UIF Discovery™ 3.4

DISCOVERY™ helps you navigate professional direction and facilitate personal change through a dynamic process of self-discovery and insight. The DISCOVERY™ process is revealing and comprehensive. It provides a unique opportunity to explore change in a proactive manner and is aimed at accelerated decision making. The process guides you through an introspective journey of personal life experiences while soliciting in-depth information pertaining to your transitional needs. This information is obtained through the use of qualitative and quantitative survey questions. Survey responses are converged to produce a comprehensive individual profile that clearly depicts your unique makeup of Motivations, Abilities and Personality.

Participants receive a confidential interpretive report and personal planning map. The report identifies interests and values, skills and abilities, and personality traits. The information provided in these documents can help you recognize your unique qualities and will provide you with a rich context by which to define future goals.

If you want, a UIF Advisor will then guide you through results interpretation and understanding during a one-on-one counseling session. Upon completing DISCOVERY™, you will have a better understanding of:

  • How your personal needs translate into professional career options, workplace needs, and prioritization.
  • How to use the profile as a networking and mentoring guide.
  • Benefits to career path management.
  • Benefits to life balance management.

With a UIF Advisor, you explore the elements of your profile and how they will impact your satisfaction and success with different career choices. At the end of the process, you will develop a career action plan designed to achieve your personal development goals.

There are many decisions to make regarding a career. Determining what type of job to look for or what industry or company to apply to are examples of the practical decisions. There are also higher level decisions related to your overall career path and educational options that lead you to meet your longer-term goals. The DISCOVERY™ process will help you understand your uniqueness and make better decisions about your future.
